This was my third ever time hiking Baldy, and it was the first time I've done it without snow. We got to the parking lot at 6AM. It was still pretty dark, but the sun rose up pretty quickly by the time we finished walking up the half mile paved road to the Baldy Bowl trailhead. The beginning of the hike up to the hut was nice and shaded with trees with very manageable elevation gain. Past the hut, the trail became pretty rocky with steep switch backs to the notch. The after the notch, we made our way to the summit through the last steep pitches to the top. Surprisingly there was very little wind at the summit and the temperature felt like it was in the 70s. After resting at the summit for a little bit, we made our way carefully all the way down to the hut, being very careful due to the many steep descents and rocky/unstable footing. Once past the ski hut, we sped our way down the heavily wooded area back down to the parking lot. This hike was very easy compared to the last couple times I've done Baldy. The weather was perfect, and with no snow to trudge along in, this attempt was very fast.
