That was by far the most challenging hike I've ever done. I honestly don't understand how so much of the hike back is uphill when I felt like we were going mostly uphill on the way there. We saw 3 people fall that didn't have trekking poles. I don't think I could have completed the hike without them. The last half mile to the summit is rough climbing over rocks when your legs are already spaghetti, but we did it. Had a nice lunch up top, took some pictures and took our time getting back. So happy to have that one checked off the list. Cuyamaca will feel like a stroll in the park after that one 🙂
