Mount Shasta is truly a strenuous hike. The weather said it was supposed to be flurries, but it snowed an inch or two through a major part of the hike. It was so wet that it got through my rain-resistant windbreaker, my puffer jacket, my hoodie, and my long-sleeve shirt. Once we got to the top, there were some really pleasant rock structures to block the weather for campers, which came in handy for us to have a quick snack before heading down since I was pretty wet and very very cold. Visibility was low today, and we only came across two other people the entire hike. If I were to hike this again in September, I'd bring even more layers of clothing than I did, but truthfully I think I will choose August for this one on another year. We got a bit lost in the rocks at a certain point, and so did the other couple that went up before us. The trail is not well marked after Oberman's causeway, and the All Trails app is not as accurate as we would have liked especially in the fields of tallis rock as well as total length.  It was a grueling day with the weather and cold on an already strenuous hike; however, when we got down, I had a major sense of the joy of conquering this one. It's definitely the most difficult hike of the 7 peaks list and I'm glad to be able to say I did it and now time for these Quads and Calves to recover 😅😂🥴
