While we did see 1 sedan at the trailhead, a vehicle with higher clearance is very much recommended. The dirt/sand road had some pretty big dips and washed out areas. This was my first time on this trail, but I will definitely be back. I loved it! There was a lot of prickly and pokey overgrowth on a narrow at times trail so longer pants and sleeves are suggested unless you like scratches all over your arms and legs. Hiking poles helped a lot on the steady climb up, but my calves are still hurting 3 days later. Was cool to look around and see some of the other area mountains. Lots of wildflowers blooming right now. And very little shade, so I probably wouldn't do this hike if temps are much more than 80.
