Parking is in dirt, watch out for ruts that will eat lowered cars. Early trails are truck trails, then single track. Lots of flowers, some berries on the manzanita. Some pretty narrow areas. Flies are heavier in covered areas where you want to rest out of sun — a few biting flies. The last mile to top is a manzanita Forrest, not as steep but great rocky views. The half dome is awesome to rest and write something for your hiking friends.  5 vultures have nearby nesting locations.  Fat lizard I’ve never seen before at the top.  Coyotes are eating the berries.
