We (my dad, friend, & dog) started off the day intending to hike at 7:40am, but waited out the rain until about 9:00am. It was still raining as we drove over but it was lighter.
However, as we were driving up, we noticed a tire pressure issue. Down the mountain we went and filled up the tires. Still concerned about tire pressures up in the mountains with no cell signal, we switched cars and drove up. The fog barely allowed us to see the car in front, and stayed that way throughout the whole 3.5 miles to the peak. It rained on and off but when it wasn’t raining we shed multiple layers. Once we peaked, the sun started to peak through, which meant we had the views for the second half of the hike!
This was my first six-pack peak of 2024 and it felt great!
My dog did really well and she let me lead (which was a proud training moment for me!), though it wore her out for a few days following.
