We hiked to the Sunol Backpackers camp and stayed the night in Eagles Aeyrie. The wind kicked up about midnight and blew hard all night with intermittent light rain. Hit the trail at 6:30am with headlamps, rain gear and determination. Light rain continued all morning til we hit the summit with much wind at the peak. We arrived with numb fingers and smiles! As we turned to head down, the rain stopped and we even had a bit of sunshine. Took us 6 hrs to go from camp to summit back to camp, then another 1:15 after we packed up camp. I think I preferred this hike in the rain over the option of doing it on a hot day. Glad this one is done!
