It started out as a beautiful day on the mellow trail up to Sutton Moutain. There were wildflowers along the trail and the views became more dramatic as we rounded the corner to the trail that led to the poorly marked peak. William Sullivan's guidebook was very helpful in finding the actual summit. Once we believed we reached the summit the rain started coming down. There was thunder and lightning that illuminated the valley below. It was truly beautiful. This was a wonderful moderate hike and a wonderful way to see the beauty of this part of Oregon.
