Ready to Conquer the Beast

We left from Vivian Creek at 6:20am, by a crispy, chilly air, which was so enjoyable. Thanks to the early morning freshness, the 6 first miles were fairly easy to hike. We reached the beginning of the ridge by 9:30am, sun was up, but thankfully the wind started to blow and the sky became overcast, which was the perfect weather to face the last 2.5 miles of super exposed mountain side. Within a hour I reached The Beast! Just the time for a few pictures, a few hugs to the cherished San G sign and off I started my way down. Thanks to the cloudy sky and the chilly wind, the return was, for me, as enjoyable as the way to the top. I really don't do well with Heat, Sun and Dust! 2:50pm and here I was back to Vivian Creek, with still some energy left! The Beast was not that bad, I conquered it! I guess the next challenge is now the King Whitney!
