This peak near my house and I have reached the summit from every trail it attaches to. My friend Wendy and I decided to do Winter Creek trail as we wanted to see the damage done from a recent fire. It was so sad to see so many dead trees and red fire retardant staining this beautiful mountain. Hopefully the rains will come and wash away the fire retardant and bring new growth (hopefully not too much purple poodle dog bush).
The hike was still very enjoyable, this area is so magical with it's lush foliage protecting against sun exposure. There is a working drinking fountain to refill water supply.
