Reached the first gate on Mt. Umunhum road at around 6.35 am. The park gate was still closed. There was just one car in front of me so I was glad that there would be enough parking (25 only) lot since it was a weekend. The sign read 1.7 miles to the Bala Mountain parking lot. At exactly 7.00 am the auto operated gate opened and was on the parking lot within 5 -6 minutes.

It was a gorgeous day with moderate temperature and the greenery around was beautiful. Indeed a very relaxing hike as the elevation of the trail is gradual and therefore this hike is good for all ages. While going up stopped in couple if vista points to click few photographs (Why not?). Once at the top spent around 15-20 minutes and headed back to the parking lot. It took us 10 minutes sort of 3 hours. So one should be able to complete out and back within 3 hours and that would give enough time to enjoy if not plenty 🙂 !

I guess in summer it may be hot but most part of the trail is shaded so should be good. Carry enough water and may be a snack that you may want to enjoy once at the top. Overall a great hike. Highly recommend.
