Enlisted my good friend to join me on this hike. We camped the night before so we could get an early start. Ranger recommended doing the loop clockwise so that’s what we did. Either direction, the route was the most challenging due to the steepness of the trail. Most of the hike was either steep up or steep down. No water available so per the rangers recommendation, we each had 4 liters. It was a warm day, not too hot, and we used every last drop. Being a big loop, this was a mentally tough route not knowing what was ahead. The out/back routes are easier. This felt like we were climbing the entire time 🙂 it was my first time in Henry coe state park so enjoyed the new scenery and the company of my friend. We saw a couple tarantulas, one rattle snake and a beautiful king snake.
