Started from the Bald Mt parking lot just after 9 am. Trail is out and back and it is mostly wide single track that climbs the whole way. There is a lot of brush on both sides of the trail which limits the views but there are a few times where you can see the valley. Of course the real treat was at the summit. There are incredible views for about 270 degrees. The tower is being reinforced for safety and therefore, the trail going past it and around to the other side is closed. It got pretty warm by the time we reached the top and it was great being able to sit under the open-air info center at the summit. The concrete benches were cool and a nice breeze cooled us off. We took 4 1/2 hours to do this hike as we were going pretty slow and talking a lot. I recorded 8.2 miles using Relive.
