After several months off of the challenge avoiding the Summer heat and some other commitments I have made my return on San Bernardino Peak! I started at 7am sharp and snagged one of the last spots in the parking lot. I was alone on the trail for 5 miles until I caught up to several groups and solo hikers. I remained close to them until the summit. Despite all of the wildfire damage I found the trail very peaceful and despite the length it wasn’t technical so enjoyable until the last couple of miles when my feet just ached too much. As usual AllTrails was off on the mileage. I met some nice people at the summit who are training for Mt. Whitney and we decided to hike down together and exchanged numbers. Grateful for so many friendly hikers out here looking to connect!
