First peak for me this year…and I was ready, unlike last year. Last year I met another hiker on this trail that kept me from getting lost, showed me hiking 101, told me about the 6 peak challenge, and fueled my inspiration for hiking. This year I ran into a group of hikers that had wondered off trail up by the “devil's backbone” and I was able to lead them back to the trail. They followed me for the rest of the day. Of course I told them about the 6 peak challenge!!! Full circle.
