We parked at the campground and headed our ascent at 7:00am. The sun came up pretty early and was intense. The azaleas are starting to bloom. We ran into two rangers and they warned us that the rattlesnakes were out. We were on alert and came across a baby one hanging out amongst a few rocks. Later we came across a big one that was across the entire trail. The peak was pretty quiet. The downhill trek down the fire road was a breeze!
