We finished the Bay Area six pack last year, so it was funny to climb another Mt. Rose, but in a different state!
What a glorious hike! The weather was perfect, clear and warm but not too hot. The wildflowers were absolutely breathtaking, everywhere you looked beautiful pops of color. There are still small patches of snow, but none on the trail. The first two miles of this trip are fairly flat, and then. Oh and then. It's certainly not the steepest hike I've been on, but I'm not sure if I've ever been hiking at 10,800 ft before. It was SLOW GOING. I was struggling and elated all at once. The trail was busy but not crowded, and everyone was extremely nice.
