Very long, strenuous hike, but worth it for the training (for distance and elevation gain)! Not for the faint of heart. It is a long climb right from the get go! My friend and I started early around 7am and, with a long lunch break and few water breaks, ended up back at the car around 6:15pm. Trail is in pretty good condition, but when you get to some parts, the weeds are overgrown, growing into some parts of the trails, so hopefully EMBUD can clear this up for future hikes. We were lucky enough to spot a group of wild boar running to drink water at a pond after making our descent from the peak, around mile 10-11. Lots of turkeys and a few deer towards the end of our hike as well. Would recommend ample water for this hike (but in case you are running low, there are one or two water spots about a mile away from the trail near the campsites). Lot of little annoying gnats as well. Be prepared for dusty trails. Otherwise, a monster of a hike if you are training for something like Half Dome. Not my favorite out of the Six Pack of Peaks hikes, but I never regret completing this one because of the difficulty level! Glad to have completed the challenge with this final big trek!
