I hiked Strawberry Peak in 2019 so it was nice to return to run the trail! Parked at the Red Box Picnic area. Started in the dark around 5:30AM before sunrise at 5:56. Absolutely beautiful slow sunrise. Only 2-4 hikers on the trail. Narrow trails reminded me of Fox mountain and Echo mountain. Cobwebs but no poison ivy. Clear trails for the most part. Super smooth run for the first 2 miles until you hit that last 700ft gain to the peak in the last .5-mile. A lot of scramble! be prepared to power hike. Surprisingly a lot of nats/flies at the peak – hopefully people are properly leaving no trace and digging holes for bathroom breaks or not leaving food. Views were gorgeous. Took me 1:50. Would have been 1:40 without going off trail once and filming views.
