As most know, this trail recently opened up after being closed from a devistating fire. I'm an experienced hiker, and I think this was not a fun hike. Most of the trail is completely burned up. There's zero shade. There's tons of ash dust that gets kicked up. Really not much to look at. And to be honest I thought the peak itself was mediocre.
There was some snow on the trail that made some crossings a little difficult. My group managed without spikes or poles, but you may want to bring some if you don't feel comfortable crossing snow on hillsides.
Glad I did this, but won't be doing it again.
