It was a nice day to hike. A bit hot but nothing out of the ordinary. I did a solo hike this time. It's the longest hike I've ever done. When I was on mile 7 I realized that I miscalculated the amount of water I needed for this hike. I only had a 20 ounces left. So I just kept on going to the summit and started minimizing the amount of water I consumed. When I was 5.5 miles away from my car I finished all my water. I suffered the rest of the way. As I was making my way down. I encountered a rattle snake, when it started making the noise I just left and started walking at a fast pace. All I wanted to do is get to my car. After 8 hours of hiking (including 3- ten minute break and 1- half an hour summit break) I finally made it to my car. I drank all the warm water I had in my car. I guess the point of this story is bring enough water. At least a gallon for long hikes like these.
