Completed big bad San G as my last training hike before Mt Whitney the following weekend. What a gorgeous trail with unexpected surprises and different types of scenery! Out of all the original So Cal 6 peak hikes, this summit definitely has the best views – 360 overlooking other neighboring peaks. Also love that there are so many places to camp on this trail. Hiked up on a Friday night to Vivian Creek Camp to camp 1 night, made the trek up to the summit the next day, and camped at High Camp afterward. Was not fun to carry my backpacking pack up to High Camp, but it helped prepare me for backpacking at Trail Camp in Mt Whitney.
