I waited a day to log the hike because, yesterday I hated it so badly. But putting things into perspective, it wasnt all that bad. Yes, its long. Yes, its high. Yes, there is hardly any shade. Yes, mosquitoes are on the prowl. Yes, its hard. But would the challenge be a challenge without San Gorgonio? I think not. I appreciate this beast. Its made me feel unique. As for the trail itself, its long and hard. There is still water in both Vivian and High Creek. Take sunblock or protective clothing. Start early. There is some shade up until the last 2-3 miles before the summit. And we lost the trail on the way down trying to follow the sign pointing to Vivian Creek, so play close attention to your tracking device or map. Garmin 19.55 miles 5141 ft. elevation gain.
