I didn’t think I was afraid of the dark, until I shut my headlights off and realized I was about to head into the wilderness, alone and afraid. Luckily this feeling didn’t last long! I had parked next to someone also about to enter the trailhead solo so we decided to join forces and hike together until sunrise. Thanks Ken!
Once the sun was beaming we parted ways and I was in full force to the top! I was completely blown away by this trail. Not a technically difficult one by any means, but long. Very long. The views were spectacular and I didn’t cut any corners. Walking off to every viewpoint I could, I took in all of the beauty surrounding me.
At the summit, I took some pics and then huddled up in a shelter for a quick bite and a nap before heading back down the 9+ miles to the lot.
I really wasn’t sure if I would summit this one, but I’m so proud to say I did! I pushed myself to do so with nothing but sheer willpower (and the fear of failure looming in the back of my head lol).
