We decided to make a backpacking trip out of this hike. We hike to High Creek camp on Friday. We under estimated our speed after being injured for a month. We made it to camp at about 3pm. We began to hike to the peak at about 4pm but didn’t arrive until 7pm.

We had the trail, camp and summit all to ourselves. We were able to see the sunset from the top and hiked to camp in the dark. We were able to see the stars and city lights for part of the hike back to camp. Now, the hike in the dark was pretty scary because I thought that we could get lost. It also got pretty cold, about 40 degrees F.

The next day on Saturday, we hiked back down. I was tired. We ran into some hikers on the way down and even a ranger checking for permits.

The trail was beautiful and the views from the peak were even more beautiful, specially with the bright blues and pink colors from the sunset.
