(Whoever posted on AllTrails that Vivien Creek Trail is 17miles, has to be forced to hike that trail several times in a row!-rant over hehe)… the wake up time was at 2:00 am, started driving- 3:20am, started hiking- 5:15am… it took me 7 hours to get to the peak, and 4 out of those 7 were spent on the last 3 miles! This is not only an insane altitude hike but it also covers distance and steep elevation gain (first 1.5 and last 3miles). Be definitely prepared both physically and mentally to hike this peak. The things that made me keep climbing were the fact that I am not a quitter, my friend who kept giving me moral support and…. well my pastrami sandwich that I vowed to eat only if I reach to the top and I WAS starving !

Hope that pastrami made it worth it! I agree, San Gorgornio is tough!
haha! Yes, the pastrami sandwich with a cup of coffee made it worth it! Now that my legs are functioning properly again, I have this huge sense of accomplishment and no regrets.
I left San Jacinto as my last peak from 6PackOfPeaks, and I feel like that is going to be a walk in the park after Gorgonio.
