San Jacinto is a really cool not very tough hike it is steep in the beginning and then after the 1st 2 miles evens out a little and is a gradual climb to the top. It rained on the way down which was really lovely.

Lets talk signs and mileage.

San Jacinto peak is not 5.2 miles from the marion trailhead, its just under 7 (6.96)

From the first sign which says 5 1/4 mile it is .5 mile to the next sign which says the peak is now 5.3 miles away. The next sign you will see which is roughly 3.1 miles up says the peak is 3.2 miles away, you will then hike a half mile or more an see a sign that says you are 3.1 miles from the peak. This kind of keeps happening.

7 is the key number here. 7 miles the peak otherwise go by elevation.

Also while the trail is easy, at times the trail gets blurry and you may need to back track use your instincts if it looks wrong it probably is wrong. Use gps on you phone to double check tou are on the trail.

Thanks
