5/26/24. Logged in 14 miles round trip from Deer Springs. Was able to reach only about a quarter mile just before Wellman Divide. The bunny energizer ran out of power, hahaha. I will do this again via Tram next time. It got so warm particularly in the exposed areas. Constant but gradual incline. Snow free until the 5th mile then batches of snow patch that were walkable. Per other hikers that summited: there were mostly snow patches until a few feet to the summit where snow were 3-5 inches. They said, all doable & didn't need microspikes. All in all, it was a great hike. Definitely a solid training for MWhitney.
