Some of my hiking friends were training for Mt Ranier, so we wanted to do the Big Three So Cal Peaks again. The Marion Mountain trail is the shortest route to the top from Idyllwild, and therefore the steepest and most difficult. We got to the trailhead about 6:30AM, and it was a little chilly. It wasn't long before we warmed up on the steep trail, and took off layers. It was a beautiful day with great weather at the top, other than a bit of wind. Great views all around, especially to Santiago Peak, which we decided to hike later this year.
