Mt San Jacinto Peak
San Jacinto was my favorite hike of the six completed so far. Ranger Station with forms, clean restrooms, pine trees, singing birds, creek with water and the exciting view taking the Tram up to Mountain Station.
Tram tickets go on sale at 7:30 am with the first one going up at 8:00. Lots of hikers maybe more local types arrive starting 1/2 hour before 8:00. I suggest starting your hike as early as possible to have shade and cooler temp on your hike.
The trail is also easy to follow except when you get just up to the top where you negotiate boulders to reach the top. On the way down look on the back of the trail signs as arrows point to the trail heading back to the Tram station.
I didn’t see any large soaring birds but the view from the top is really great. There’s a new sign as others at the top says it keeps getting stolen. Saw butterflies at the top.
