Very fun and memorable experience to hike this trail starting from the tramway.
Most of the entire trail is very straightforward and not too difficult although getting to the actual summit is a bit of a crazy scramble. At least it was to me since I couldn't find an obvious path up there for the very last portion.
Despite it being around 110+ F in nearby downtown Palm Springs, it was a nice 50F – 75F for most of the hike. It even rained for about half an hour and there was audible thunder nearby. The trees provide a lot of cover from the sun and also from the rain.
Very scenic views particularly during the last mile or so near the peak.
Only downside was dealing with like 200 teenage kids at the tramway that came together for some apparent school activity. But that's not really an issue with the trail itself.
