Since the Holy Jim trailhead was closed, we entered via the Cadillac and Joplin Trials. The road to the trailhead is not maintained and was littered with deep potholes. The hike took over eight hours. The summit was covered in clouds, and the descend was agonizing as it was very slippery. Everyone in the group fell at least once during the descend. We never saw other hikers on the trail; only a few mountain bikers and trailer runners. Arrived back at the car to find locals partying and off-roading.
