Wow! Amother awesome Las Vegas Peak. This was my first time simmitting this mountain and I have to say, it is easily now my favorite peak in the Las Vegas Six Pack of Peaks. The trail starts out in a narrow canyon of lush green vegitation. It follows wild Horse Canyon up to the Charleston Peak Trail North Loop before turning onto the final .8 miles to Fletcher Peak.

Great trail, great views, lots of trees (bristle cone pine, I think). We began our hike up just after 6am and were the first to reach the peak. We spent about 30 minutes or so eating relaxing and taking photos before another Las Vegas Six Pack of Peaks Challenger came up to the summit. We spent a few minutes talking with Challenger Number 7 (Chris) before beginning our descent.

The descent was quick and easy. We ran into easily two or three dozen hikers heading up to the summit as well as the Rain Tree. Note to self: must take the time to visit the Rain Tree next time I summit this peak. Believed to be the oldest living thing in Nevada. Yes there will be another summit! 😉 😉
