not bad! trail was 99% snow, but pretty manageable. only saw a few other people the entire hike. wasn't too strenuous, and sawmill had some nice views

I’m considering doing this next week. How deep is the snow and is the path easy to follow, even with the snow? What gear did you use? Not that many people are hiking Sawmill right now so I appreciate any insight. Thanks!
up to sawmill the trail was carved out pretty well and the snow wasn’t bad. mostly ice and slush. there were some sections after mt. pinos that were maybe 5-6 inches deep. i wore microspikes the whole time and used poles after mt. pinos
if you go past sawmill and on to grouse mountain the trail gets hard to find at times and the snow gets significantly deeper. it was still doable just a little more work
have fun!
