LA County trails are finally re-opened after 9 weeks of pandemic lockdown and crowded, so we headed out to Kern County to better practice Social Distancing. Social distancing isn’t just for you, it is to protect others who are at risk, our first responders and frontline workers who are also sharing the trails with you. I am a Registered Nurse and frontline worker, and finally back on the trail again. Bring a mask with you, or wear a Buff around your neck, so it’s available when you need it. And no, you don’t wear it all the time while you’re hiking.
I called Mt. Pinos Park Rangers and confirmed trails and roads are open for Mt. Pinos. We summited Mt. Pinos and Sawmill Mtn total 8 miles with 1,500’ elevation gained. We did our part on the trail—only 4 of us hiked together, no carpooling, practiced social distancing and put on a mask whenever necessary. We also packed out our trash. We’re all in this together! #americastrong
