Climate change created good conditions on some of the snow covered trails — much had melted, though not nearly enough. It was extremely difficult to follow the trail between Sawmill and Mt Pinos, on the way back (this was just 3 days before a 73 year old hiker was lost for over two days on the same trail as the weather turned frigid). I lost the trail and had to drag myself through hip deep snow. Still, a great workout for The Triple Crown of 200s later this summer and early fall.
