This hike was gorgeous from start to finish. I haven't hiked at this altitude and made sure to hydrate the day before. We drove from San Diego and timed it perfectly to grab some breakfast and had plenty of time to get tickets (office opens at 9:30 for sales) and hop on the first tram up. The tram was the worst paft for the biggest, hairiest one in our group. LOL. We definitely took our time along the trail and stopped frequently to take in the views and scenery. We saw lots of lizards, woodpeckers, gray squirrels and even a deer. The rock scramble at the end was tough for me but manageable. After peaking and taking photos we went to a more comfortable area to rest, snack and take a quick nap. It was roughly 7.5 hours which included all the stops, snacks and napping. This one has become a favorite for me! Oh, the temp was 102 in the valley but hiking was a very comfortable 66!
