My friend and I had a fun, easy springtime hike up Sitton Peak this March, when the wildflowers were in excellent bloom and there was enough cloud cover to make it comfortable. This is an easy hike by most standards – mostly fire road and minimal elevation gain – but it's exposed and occasionally overgrown. Also, this trail is easy to get lost on – there are sections where you need to make a turn on an unmarked path.
Summary:
- Download an offline map.
- Hike this trail at any other time except summer (it will be too hot).
- Bring sun coverage and protection.
- Visit the candy store on your way out.
