I hiked up Mount Wilson on a sunny Sunday. I started the hike at 6 a.m. I got the most memorable early morning sky. The trail was dry and well maintained. A new bridge had been built on the Mount Wilson Trail. I saw alot of waterfall. Wildflowers of various colors were blooming everywhere. At was closed to 4,000 feet, snow and ice appeared. For my own safety, I wore microspikes and used both of my trekking poles.
As I reached the Cosmic Cafe near the Mount Wilson Observatory, there were many snow. However, the people working at the Observatory, use the Bobcat and other tractors to plow away the snow on the service and fire road. There were significant amount of black ice near the benches at the Cosmic Cafe. I stepped on a patch and was very lucky not to injured myself. My Guardian Angel was looking after me.
Next, I went to Echo Rock to get my summit photos. There were snow at this Lookout. After taking my summit photos, I started to head down.
I was very slow in coming down due to the steepness of the trail. Many people were coming up as I came down. These people were just doing their late afternoon walk to First Water Camp, the saddle and the bench.
I, on the other hand, had bagged Mount Wilson.
