Hiked with Shelby, as I am for all of these 6 pack hikes. To be honest neither of us was feeling it- this was one hike that felt more like homework than a good time, though the second half wasn't bad. Sometimes you go outside because it's good for you, not because you want to.
There was a marathon happening the same day, on the same trail we were hiking. It definitely made things interesting.
It was buggy at the top of the mountain. Bring bug spray or dress for bugs. Not too windy at any point. The day we hiked in particular was extremely humid, probably mid-80s, although it didn't rain at all (some puffy white clouds, but overall blue skies all day)
According to what I saw online, the peak of Rocky Mountain is a boulder formation with a piece of wood attached to the top. I navigated to the peak, used Alltrails to confirm I was in the right place, and climbed all over the rocks on the top of the formation trying to find this piece of wood and I couldn't find it. Very frustrating- in the future, for anyone looking, it might just be gone.
