We arrived at the parking lot around 6:30am and it was pretty empty. We started hiking at 6:50am and the sun had just risen so it was nice and bright. There was snow along the road side and little patches along the trail but overall the trail was snow free. The weather overall was perfect – some cloud cover, not too cold or hot. The first two third of the hike is pretty easy and shaded in the early morning. The last third of the hike was pretty steep, rocky and a little over grown but not too bad. Coming back down the steep spot was a little tricky too. Overall great first hike to ease into the rest.
