We started the hike @ 5 min before 7am, and it was a cool, sunny, and clear day. This was our first time on this trail and were all excited to be hiking it!  I loved all the beautiful wildflowers on the trail and marveled at a bittermelon-looking fruit on one of the vines.  Everything was going well until we started the .36 mile climb to the peak. My friend decided to wait about just past a quarter of the way up as she did not feel confident climbing on the steep and somewhat slippery trail. She also was more worried about climbing down it. Her husband and I proceeded to climb until we reached the summit at 9:53 am.

Keith and I spent about 20 minutes up there and met a few wonderful hikers and took turns taking pics of each other. We proceeded to descend and met up with Krista who joined us back down.  We saw a rattlesnake slithering through the dried leaves against the side of the mountain @ the 2 and a half mile pt from trailhead.

After reaching trailhead, I went in the candy store to buy a can of La Crois which tasted as well as I thought it would!!  It was a great hike and will be coming back to take my boyfriend in the very near future before it gets too hot!

Glad I picked this as my first hike for this challenge.
