Great sunny cool day for a hike. Starting temp 54. Trail was I great condition considering the rainfall. Nice to see a few creeks flowing. Almost no mud on trail. This is about my twelfth time hiking Sitton and for about 11 of those trips I cursed the final approach to the peak. It is two steep and direct. Lots of erosion and poor footholds. Props to last seasons group that cut in the new approach. Did it today. Needs more feet on it, a little engineering and some pruning but a much healthier trail for the mountain. I hope to work to improve it over the season. For those interested in doing it, go past the exisisting trail sign and go about .25 miles on the same fire road. There is a sign at the new approach. This trail follow  the natural fall of the range so it is almost directly from the south to north.
