The trail was a little muddy from the rain, but very well marked and maintained. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, 57*. The hike felt very good; that last .4 mile was a real butt kicker! Very glad to have brought my trekking poles. Solid 10 miles and beautiful scenery. My only caution would be to cross the street from parking lot to trailhead very carefully, we had vehicles speed up while we were crossing in the morning. Also, parking lot can fill quickly leaving many cars to park along Ortega Highway. We are 1 of 6 done and proud of a great start. Girl group of 9. All 9 made it. Cheers to 2021!
