It was a cool and cloud covered Saturday morning – my hiking partner and I set off around 8:30am to hike the easy 10 miles up to Sitton Peak. Leading up to the last 1/2 mile, the trail was a slow and steady incline. The sprint up to the summit is very steep (reminiscent of Strawberry Peak's final mile) – a set of trekking poles is highly recommended for the way down this steep section. The summit was small but had great 360 views.
We observed a TON of what appeared to be Bobcat droppings, saw some beautiful hawks flying around, and one little Alligator lizard sunning himself on the trail. There were a few large groups hiking, but overall it was a pretty low traffic trail. Overall – a very pleasant hike.
Note: Don't get excited about visiting the Candy Store across the street from the parking lot – it's undergoing renovations and is not currently open.
