We started the hike at 6AM from Ortega candy shop. There’s a post to sign in at the very beginning. Sun started rising and heating up around 8am. The climb is gradual and pleasant for the most part, in the final 0.3 miles we had to battle against sandy slopes and climb over rocks but nothing crazy. Playful breezes and occasional shade throughout. The peak has plenty of rest space and area to gaze out into the scenery.
