It's been a busy month! I'm just now getting some time to post from last month!

We hiked Sitton Peak, by Lake Elsinore. We started at 7am to try to beat the heat and for the most part we accomplished that. It is one of our #SixPackofPeaks hikes, and for the most part was the easiest of the 3 we have done so far. I was hoping to see the wildflowers in full bloom, but unfortunately most had already started dying. It's ok, though, we got to see a Blue Jay, several different kinds of lizards, a bunny, road runners, a couple other small birds and we heard the hissing of a snake…will Jimmy did lol.

The hike itself is kind of deceiving though. ? You spend a good portion of the hike on flat ground along with some good, but not difficult, incline, and there is even a good portion where you're going downhill, so we weren't sure exactly how we were going to reach the actual peak. However, the last .5 mile solved that for us as it pretty much went straight up the mountain to the peak. We had to take a few breaks in that last .5 mile ? The peak was very rewarding and provided amazing views of Orange County and South Riverside County. It really was beautiful up there. We met a couple guys in the parking lot when I asked where the trail head was and they ended up waiting for us at the peak. It's a loop, so when you reach the 1st fork you can either take the 1.7 mile route or the 1.1 mile. We opted for the 1.7 on the way up and the 1.1 on the way down. Which, happened to be the best choice because our new friend informed us that coming down the 1.7 side is quite hotter as there isn't much coverage on that side. I even got in a yoga pose, Eagle, on the way down.

They beat us on the way down too, lol. When we met them back in the parking lot they had a cold beer for us! All in all it was a great hike! We got to see amazing views, meet new people, and hike pretty much by ourselves as there was only 1 other person on the trail other than those 2 guys we met!
