We hiked Sitton from the Bear Ridge trailhead. We started out around 8:30am and hiked 10 miles round trip. It took us about 4.5 hours to complete. The first few miles were through a wooded/covered area and were relatively flat. A few miles into the hike, it becomes more exposed and became much more hot. It was only 65 out in the morning, and rose to 75 by the end of the hike, but if it's sunny, it feels much more warm. Bugs were an annoyance the entire hike. We wore bug nets, and we saw many others doing the same. The first 4 miles of the hike are relatively flat, and the last mile gets steep at some points, with some rock scrambling required. There are portions where the trail is rutted out and other portions where the vegetation is overgrown. Overall, I'd say this is a great trail to start off on if you're doing the challenge, as long as you arrive early in the morning to beat the heat.
