I got a bit of a later start today, arriving at the parking area for the Manker Flats trailhead at ~7:15. Parking was right but I managed to squeeze into a spot.
There were a ton of people out however the trails weren't terribly crowded. Though there were quite a few people at the ski hut I noticed as I walked by. There were a couple patches of snow – nothing crazy but it made me pull out my hiking sticks on the way up to help steady myself.
The trail also seemed not terribly well marked in a couple spots as compared to other times when I went up but I figured it out, obvi.
had I not “figured it out” today would have been the day since SAR were everywhere and there were multiple choppers overhead for most of the hike…one even landed in the summit while I was there.
All in all it was a beautiful day for a hike!
