Muddy mess! This hike was a bugger! I felt like the climb was harder and definitely longer than Mt. Sizer. When I stopped to catch my breath, I would slide due to the mud. This is NOT a complaint! I love that we are receiving rain. We came across several deer hiking through the park. We noticed frost covered leaves, logs and the trail was covered in it. We were muddy and thankful we were trail runners and not boots. I'm not sure who invented trekking poles but I appreciate them! Phew, my poles saved my bum a few times. As we made our way back to the truck there was a rafter of turkeys. A rather huge rafter! Didn't know a group of turkeys was called that until I just looked it up. Learn something new every day. Thankful this is #5 for me and I am almost done!
